Brian Frakes began his development career at Westcor Partners in 1999 and in 2002 joined the Westcor senior partners to form WDP Partners. Frakes played an active role in the identification, acquisition, entitlement and management of more than eight million square feet of regional,
neighborhood, specialty and power shopping centers in Arizona. Notable projects include “The Yard at the Farmer Arts District” a redevelopment of a 30,000 SF warehouse building for a mixed use restaurant and retail destination anchored by Fox Restaurant Concepts in Tempe, Arizona, a multi restaurant adaptive reuse development in Phoenix, Arizona, redevelopment of over 400,000 SF of office buildings, a 1M+ square foot regional shopping center in Yuma, Arizona and a major power center in Queen Creek, Arizona. In addition to the vertical development of these projects, Frakes identified and secured the site acquisition and entitlements for the Company’s major land holdings.
A native of Arizona, Frakes attended Brophy College Preparatory, graduated with a BS from the University of Arizona and is a Board Member of Valley Partnership, member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, Pinal Partnership, and is active in philanthropic organizations – Jordan Sterling Foundation and The Thunderbirds. He currently resides in Phoenix with his wife, Christie, and their three children.
